Joomla version?
If you are using Joomla 3 with the version of JOpenSim on this site, you must use ONLY OpenSim RC version 0.9.2.1 not DEV versions.
If you use the RC version of JOpenSim for Joomla 4 instead, you can use OpenSim 0.9.2.2.
Version OpenSim 0.9.2.3 as I think you are using has access problems.
Also if you have enabled the email activation option if the user is unconfirmed you may have the same non-authentication problem.
